Move-in planning
Fully furnished, partly furnished or a blank canvas?
Furnishing labels are a useful starting point. The inventory tells you what you will actually have when you move in.
Compare the inventory
Ask for a room-by-room list and current photos. Check beds, mattresses, wardrobes, seating, kitchen equipment and appliances. Fully furnished does not tell you whether small items such as cookware and bedding are included.
Think about your length of stay
For a shorter stay, consider how much setup you want to do. For a longer stay, weigh the convenience of existing furniture against bringing your own pieces. Measure rooms and doorways if you plan to move larger items.
Look beyond the furniture
Check air conditioning, hot water, laundry facilities and internet arrangements. Ask which services are included and which you will need to arrange yourself.
Record the handover
Review the inventory together, note the condition of items and agree what will be repaired or replaced. Keep the agreed list and handover photos with your property paperwork.
